Screws

Screws

Screws are the archetypal fasteners designed to cut or form their own matching thread into a wide range of substrates, ensuring a secure and reliable hold. From heavy-duty construction and woodworking to precise industrial applications, choosing the right fastener is critical to the longevity of your project. We offer an extensive selection of head styles, drive types, thread designs, and lengths to accommodate any specification. Engineered from high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials and finished with specialized protective coatings, our screws are built to withstand harsh environments and deliver exceptional performance you can depend on.

Chipboard Screw

Notable about this fastener are a sharp tip and broad fluted coarse threads. The countersunk head has four “nibs” on the underside to enable clean and easy self countersinking. A plain shank is present on most sizes to enable panels to be pulled tight as the fastener is screwed in.
They are case hardened. Class 2 or Class 3 corrosion resistance in Phillips or Pozi drive available.

Longthread Screw

The “Longthread” in this name refers to the main body of the fastener being fully threaded. They typically have a finer thread pitch than a chipboard screw, with less aggressive fluting. Excellent fixing in solid wood construction as well as plastics. The full length thread means that fixing substrates will be held at the desired position when fixing torque is applied.
The fasteners are case hardened. Three different electroplated finishes are available with Phillips and Pozi drives available.

Stitching Screw

These fasteners are useful when an application needs a load to be carried over a larger area. The button/washer face head works well on softer materials carrying heavy loads. Needle points and twin threads bite in fast and drive quickly.
Case hardened with black, gold passivated zinc and hot dipped galvanised coating.
Phillips drive only.

Self Tapping Screw

The name of this fastener accurately describes the function of this fastener. Excellent work holding in sheet metal and plastics, as well as hardwoods. These are fully hardened and have a fine pitch thread and narrow flutes. They cut their own thread by displacing the material that are being driven into.
Philips drive only. Zinc plated or stainless steel variants available.

Type 17 Screw

Referring to the cut tip and sharp point the type17 fasteners will aggressively cut and displace material as it is driven in. Coarse threads with broad flutes drive quickly and efficiently. Excellent for heavy load applications, or where reliable long term fastening is required. Particularly good for roofing and decking applications.
Class 3 galvanised and class 2 zinc plating is available. Socket and Hex-Washerface (HWF) variants.
